COVENERGO enters the Finnish BESS market with AKKU ONE

Prague, 17 September 2026 – COVENERGO is expanding its European presence with AKKU ONE, a 125 MW / 300 MWh battery energy storage system currently under construction in Lapinlahti, Finland. The project marks the company’s entry into the Finnish BESS market and represents another important step in the development of its flexible energy asset portfolio.

AKKU ONE is a standalone utility-scale battery energy storage project acquired as a ready-to-build asset from Helios Nordic Energy. The project will comprise 60 battery containers arranged in 30 integrated blocks, connected to the Finnish electricity grid through a 110 kV grid connection. Construction is currently under way, with commissioning targeted for Q4 2027.

COVENERGO has been involved in the project from the transaction stage through to its current delivery phase. Acting as the exclusive transaction lead and strategic project partner, COVENERGO originated and executed the acquisition of AKKU ONE, overseeing the financial and legal workstreams on behalf of the investor. The company now leads project management and delivery coordination, working closely with its technical and construction partners as the project progresses on site.
